Emma Wells – Bishop Group Lead

Emma Wells – Bishop Group Lead

Emma was born in Essex, before moving to Yorkshire and then Bishop Auckland. Her dad’s side of the family are Bishop through and through, and she has been raised here since she was six. Emma was recently diagnosed with ADHD and raises two boys who are both awaiting assessments for neurodivergence. This has been an eye-opening journey for Emma, and something she is still trying to get to grips with.

Emma joined SOS in early 2025 after meeting Amy on the Criminology and Sociology Degree Course they are studying. When she heard Amy explain what SOS did and how it came to be she said that she would love to get involved. After that it took only three months to get from conversation to first group meeting! Emma is passionate about supporting other women. She has experienced her share of difficulties in her life and knows the value of being able to share those experiences in a supportive environment. Emma isn’t a natural leader, and before leading our groups often found anything close to public speaking panic inducing, but as she will tell you SOS has helped her gain confidence and find real pride in her abilities.
