Helen Boyd – Walk Sisters Walk Group Lead

Helen first discovered Sisters of Support (SOS) through social media; after following the organisation for a year she found the courage to attend a session. From the moment she walked in, she was met with warmth and kindness.

At the time, Helen was navigating an incredibly difficult and heart-breaking period in her life. What stood out to her was the deep humanity, compassion, and non-judgemental support she received. The facilitators, using their active listening skills, made her feel truly heard and understood. Helen often reflects on that time, saying that SOS “saved my life.”

Now, three years on, Helen is thriving. She is a proud ambassador for fitness and wellbeing. She’s passionate about promoting a healthy lifestyle and finds joy in motivating others to prioritise their health. Her love for the outdoors includes running marathons, going to the gym, CrossFit, swimming, and walking.

Helen feels honoured to be part of an organisation that works so hard to support women across different towns, creating tailored groups to meet a wide range of needs. Her message to anyone thinking about joining Sisters of Support is simple: Reach out. They’ll meet you, support you, and remind you that you are never alone.
